About Us
Aptek Inc. was founded in 1988 as a “C” Corp. by Jack W. Link, after long career in the tooling and automation industry as a machinist, designer and sales engineer. After his discharge from service in WW II he began work at Universal Engineering-Frankenmuth, North Branch Products- Revere Bushings, GM – Tool and Design Central Office and the now defunct E & E Engineering provided a solid background in technical solutions for the tooling and automation industry. He acquired the SME Certified Manufacturing Engineer title in 1984. Our original offices were in Grand Blanc, MI.
Aptek Inc. began as a manufactures representative for 5 lines of assembly automation and a large Detroit based tooling supplier. Since then the company has expanded to include over 15 lines, and is the North American Distributor for three European product lines. With this expansion the company also expanded their capacity to provide value-added automation modules or kits to OEM machine manufacturers. In 2011 we moved into our current location with over 6500 SF of office, warehouse and shop space in Perry, MI
In 2011 the Aptek Automation Accessories –“A3SP” division was formed to fill a gap in the market place for a specific group of automation components when the Detroit based tooling supplier we represented closed its doors. Many are now produced in house or sourced from US based small businesses.
In 2017 Aptek Inc acquired the intellectual and physical assets of Automatic Tool Co. of Rockford, IL after 28 years of distribution. ATC manufactures Cam style PnP, parts handling and transfer systems. The product manufacturing and technical sales were moved to the Michigan office and operates as a division of Aptek Inc.
The company continues to provide technical automation and tooling solutions to manufacturing and OEM machine build industry around the country. In 2018 we added 3D printing capability to our manufacturing capacity for producing value added components such as tooling and fixtures.
Aptek Inc is now guided by the second and third generations of the Link family who have a strong background in mechanical engineering and technical sales.
Our Honesty, Integrity, Innovation and Christian values have been a hallmark of Aptek Inc. and we look forward to serving you in the years to come!
